Farm Direct
Farm direct is our exclusive collection of botanical extracts made from plants grown on Carrubba's integrated farming operation. Our in-house farming integration allows us to produce plant-based ingredients direct from the source, putting the 'ability' in traceABLITY and sustainABILITY. For many years, Carrubba Inc. has embraced the need for traceability and authenticity. We have provided sustainable products through our shared program with farmers across America. For more than a decade we have partnered with farmers located in Connecticut and have recently added farmland in Talking Rock, Georgia and Newtown, CT with plans for more expansion slated for the near future.
Operating our own farmland and plantings allows us to control the entire botanical process from sowing to the extract, ensuring sustainability and conservation while producing the best and highest quality products. This gives us the versatility to grow specific botanicals that our customers require. We have decided to integrate multiple farming operations into our business model to provide complete transparency and traceability of the ingredients we use. Carrubba is the closest you can get to the “Farm to Home” model.
Natural Fragrances & Aromatic Extracts
The components we use in our production for Natural Fragrances and Aromatic Extracts are physically extracted from plants using expression, distillation, super critical fluid extraction, solvent extraction, or fermentation. Our operations all use physical processes and do not involve reactive chemistry which requires high energy input and produces byproducts. Our operations follow the guidelines of traditional procedures per ISO 9235:2021. Our Natural Fragrances and Aromatic Extracts are made from renewable plants without the use of petrochemicals with no production of chemical waste. We make sure that the waste that we do produce is not put into landfills. All plastic containers used in our facilities are recycled and reused. We utilize our Farm Direct policy to ensure our operations have complete transparency and traceability from seed to product.
Botanical Extracts
All of our 200+ organic products are certified organic to the USDA NOP. We make sure that our botanical extracts are made from renewable plants and are biodegradable. Cultivated and Wildcrafted botanicals are grown and harvested in either an environmentally benign or positive manner without emitting any greenhouse gasses from our operations. Our production waste is minimal; it primarily is exhausted biodegradable mass with no toxins being released into the air, water, or ground.
DeoPlex®
Our DeoPlex® is a natural odor neutralizer using the enzymes created in the fermentation process of natural sugar cane, a green chemistry process. DeoPlex® is completely biodegradable, made from natural feedstock which is grown sustainably. Carrubba also offers DeoPlex® Made with Organic Glycerin as an NOP certified option.

Newtown, Connecticut
Carrubba's 27-acre farm in Newtown, CT is constantly evolving to meet the increasing demand for responsibly sourced botanicals. Plans are in progress to feature a larger barn, additional greenhouses, and other supporting facilities. We maintain our philosophy of “giving back to nature so it keeps going” by collectively harnessing our decades of farming experience and ongoing collaboration with our farmland teams with an intense focus on conservation and protecting our ecosystem. For example, all botanical extract waste from Carrubba production and our R&D laboratories is used to enrich the soil at our farms. Nothing goes to waste.

Talking Rock, Georgia
The 27-acre Georgia farm is found in the quaint town of Talking Rock in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains. It is the third smallest town in the State. The farm utilizes the most efficient ways of keeping the plants healthy while being eco-conscious. Organic practices and “no till farming” are the standard on the farm. This decreases the amount of soil erosion and increases the amount of water that infiltrates the soil, thus allowing greater organic matter retention and nutrient cycling. There are several greenhouses with raised beds to ensure the proper care for the wide diversity of botanicals. The plants are naturally recycled for next year’s crops by cultivating seeds from previous crops for the next generation.

Gilbertie’s Organics, Easton, Connecticut
Our partner, Gilbertie’s Organics in Easton, is the largest USDA Certified Organic greenhouse grower in the Northeast USA. Gilbertie’s Organics operates over 34 acres of farmland, offering over 4 acres of greenhouse production that grows and harvests year-round. The entire operation employs up to 50 full time and seasonal people. Owner, Sal Gilbertie and Duane Carrubba have had a working relationship since 1984.
